Annual Candidates Forum for Hardin County and Kenton, Ohio

The forum invites all candidates on the November ballot to share their political views with Hardin County residents. Invitees are candidates from both parties who are running at the county, state, or federal level. The forum allows Hardin County residents to hear first-hand from those who would represent them and help candidates understand the issues facing our county.

“She Sang Freedom”: Rev. Dr King Community Observance

“Black Women, Music & the Struggle for Social Justice.” An interactive program that explores how black female musicians used music as a means of documenting and promoting the struggle for equality and social justice in America. It was created by Dr. Tammy Kernodle, Professor of Musicology at Miami University

Race Relations in Education: Helping Our Kids Thrive in a Diverse World
April 24, 2018
This event was a county-wide discussion on the role of schools in addressing issues of race. Topics covered included faculty diversity and what is being done to ensure that the faculty and staff are representative of the community. The goal was to highlight current initiatives in our schools and understand how we might support and strengthen them. Two education faculty members from Ohio Northern University, Dr. Adrienne Goss and Dr. Diana Garlow, spoke about the value of diversity in staff and curricula.
